Electing to bat first after losing the toss, Multan Sultans showcased an impressive batting display, maintaining a consistent scoring pace despite an early setback with Usman Khan's dismissal. Reeza Hendricks led the charge with a commanding 72 runs, well-supported by skipper Mohammad Rizwan, who contributed a crucial 51 runs.
The team's middle order also made valuable contributions, with Tayyab Tahir adding 35 runs and Usman Khan chipping in with 14 runs. Sultans finished their innings strongly, amassing 68 runs in the final five overs to set a challenging target of 180/4.
In reply, Quetta Gladiators faced a daunting task chasing down the 181-run target. Despite commendable efforts from their batsmen, including Khawaja Nafay's 36 runs and Rilee Rossouw's 30 runs, the team struggled to maintain momentum, losing wickets at crucial intervals. Saud Shakeel and Sherfane Rutherford made useful contributions with 24 and 21 runs respectively, but the Gladiators fell short of the required total, ending at 167/9 in their allotted 20 overs.
